We got Charged Up for 2023's game! Teams and their robots work together to power their community, collecting 12.8" Cones and 9.5" Cubes from humans at their substations. Robots then return to their "Community" to place the game pieces in their respecive Nodes (poles for Cones and shelves for Cubes), feeding the "Grid". We sought from Kickoff to make a robot that was able to meet all of these challenges.
Our robot was named for its single-armed mechanism with an elbow and a wrist at the end, using a pneumatic end effector to grip both Cones and Cubes. Additionally, 2023 was our first year using Swerve drive.
The team and robot placed 17th in qualifications and were the second pick of Alliance 7.
The GearCats placed 13th and were selected as the first pick of Alliance 5, as well as receiving the Quality Award.
